Event Notes

Based on the life of Emily Dickinson.

The reclusive nineteenth-century poet’s diaries, letters, and poems are woven into an illuminating portrait of this prolific wordsmith. Dickinson’s encounters with close friends and family, and her often-amusing observations come to life in this one-woman play.

This summer, Old Town Playhouse is again taking theatre outdoors with Theatre Under the Tent in our parking lot.
  • Procedures, seating distances, and health department guidelines will be followed throughout the summer. Our goal is to create a safe environment for our patrons and volunteers
  • Bring your own chair or use one of ours.
  • Bring your own food and make it a picnic. (No glass bottles allowed.)
  • Tickets are available online, by phone, or at the Box Office. Any remaining tickets will be available at the entrance to the parking lot beginning one hour before the show.
  • New this summer: Enjoy the tent performance from our VIP Table for Six up front. Not only will you have the best seats in the lot, but there will be snacks and surprises for you to enjoy. To purchase this table, enter "1" for the number of tickets you want.

  • In case of rain or other severe weather we will strive to reschedule this performance for a future day - usually the following Sunday or Monday. Once notified of such a change, ticket holders will be free to exchange their tickets, receive a refund, or convert them to a donation.
